“Bronwen is truly and outstanding individual, who is treasured by an entire community, and who has enabled the Clarke Foundation Theatre to become the jewel it was destined to be.” -Pam Alexis and Beverly Holmes
Bronwen is a quick wit and a keen problem solver; never getting frustrated, despite the situations that can sometimes arise at the theatre. When a group comes to propose a project they would like to mount, she takes it on as if it were her own. She works diligently to assure they are as successful as they can be, providing guidance and assisting wherever she can, from bringing in her own furniture and costumes, to standing in as a judge for dance competitions, or as stage manager, or promoter, to contacting entertainment at the last moment. She listens and responds to the needs of those who walk through the theatre doors, going above the call of duty to ensure everyone has a positive experience.
Bronwen’s contributions to the Mission Community are immeasurable, participating in a myriad of events, most often without being asked. She can be found behind the scenes, organizing performers, technical staff and audience members. She strives to ensure that all groups, without prejudice, are given equal opportunity to flourish and shine. Because of her willingness to support everyone, she has become one of the touchstones of our community from schools to local politicians to budding artists.
“Most importantly, Bronwen brings to her volunteer, professional and family life a high degree of patience, commitment and hard work. Bronwen has a reputation of “getting the job done,” and she does it with tact and good humour. Bronwen is a shining asset to our community.” -Heather M. Stewart, Councillor, District of Mission.

“I believe that Joy is a woman of wisdom and compassion. She has a certain tenacity about the things she believes are important and this has gifted her with a dedication and persistence to accomplish much in her work in the community.” -The Reverend Sharon Salomons, All Saints Anglican Church
Joy is a caring woman who has devoted her life to helping marginalized people. Many of her life-goals of providing services and resources for youth, providing shelter for the homeless and counselling and mentoring for those in need, have come to fruition. Joy’s commitment to people and her ability to triumph over what others would deem to be insurmountable obstacles is what makes her successful.
Joy has a standard of excellence which she applies to everything she undertakes. Her attitude toward her work, her compassion for others, her leadership and perseverance, inspires anyone working with her to challenge themselves to reach her level. Joy’s knowledge of social needs and the research she does to identify the gaps in society and pursue the means to close those gaps, is what makes her unique. Joy is a go-getter. She has a vision and follows it through to the end. She is tireless in her efforts to improve life for others and does so in a caring and determined manner.
“Joy Cox has a history of remarkable achievements! She is a professional administrator who has demonstrated in her lifetime that she truly cares about the “Heart & Soul” of her community!” -Abe Neufeld, former District of Mission Mayor

“Julie Hartland puts 100% into everything she does and she never reneges on a promise. If she makes a commitment you can consider in engraved in stone and she will never let you down!” “I am extremely proud to call this energetic, highly motivated, personable, caring and community spirited lady my good friend.”
-Joyce Smith
Julie is a remarkable woman whose experience growing up as an only child in New Zealand with her dogs, cats and horses as family pets as well as her love of all animals has led her to devote countless volunteer hours to their welfare. From returning pop cans & bottles to bake sales, plant sales, raffles and lottery tickets, for Julie, nothing is too much trouble or too menial a task to help an animal in need.
Throughout her life, Julie’s passion and drive to advocate on behalf of animals has been admirable. She dedicates herself from early morning to night for the benefit of our community with no expectation of remuneration or acknowledgement.
"Julie is a wonderful role model for women, demonstrating while she was still working full time in her nursing profession, that there is never an excuse for not making a contribution to the community in which we live."-Moneca Harder

Manpreet’s 20 years in Canada have demonstrated her belief in the value of a pluralistic society that ultimately bonds together an amazing community experience. She is dedicated to helping different cultures belong and come together.
Because I want to achieve the results that I need to in the various aspects of my life, I had to create the time, motivation and balance to put in a long-term effort.
I always allow myself time to reflect on what is high priority at any given time and have open communication with all involved to let them know where my time needs to be spent. I always view myself as a learner in all aspects of my life. We as humans are all a work in progress and continue to develop and evolve until the day we die.
“Through her many years of selfless service…Manpreet has established herself as one of the most visible and trustworthy leaders in our community”. -Ed Fast, MP

Along with Elaine’s many volunteer commitments, she is a person of integrity and loyalty. Her loyalty to the community, her family and her dearest friends is what she holds closest to her heart..
I believe in a work/home balance that meets the physical, emotional and intellectual needs of people.
My hopes and dreams for our community is that we embrace our diversity in our culture, our arts, our entertainment and our recreational activities. I see us living in a community that provides a place where people know and support each other, where they share resources and provide a strong social network.

Suzanne Primus has been a dedicated woman in our community for inspiring many women, men, children and seniors for her passion for fitness and her role modelling for future fitness leaders.
There is a vast connection between opening the heart and mind to family, work and community.
I think life is best when it is balanced around a hearth of communion between all three of these elements. I am blessed and thankful to be part of a community that provides the opportunity for me to embrace all of them.
“Suzanne gives unreservedly to her family, her career, her community and her friends”. -Irm Nickel
