The BPW of Abbotsord links business and professional women
across Canada to provide support for, and recognition of their
achievements, and to work toward equality of opporutinity
and economic security for all women.



The Myrtle Evertt Woman of the Year Awards and ceremony honours women in our communities who make a difference and are role models for young women.

The Abbotsford Club encourages young women to pursue higher learning by giving two $1000 bursaries to graduating females from Abbosford and Mission senior secondary schools to help with further education expenses. These graduating young woman are honoured at our Woman of the Year Awards ceremony.

We host political forums to meet and support women involved in local politics within our communities.



•Personal Development Workshops•

We offer personal development workshops periodically for personal and professional growth.



•Advocacy Committee•

We also have an advocacy committee to focus on local, provincial, and national women's issues, providing a forum to develop resolutions and promote change.



•International Committee•

Candlelighting Ceremony

In March we participate in a special tribute to the International Federation of BPW, which unites women around the world. As we go through the candlelighting ceremony we know our members in every continent are celebrating in the same manner. International Presidents of Five Major Women's Organizations Work Together
(Our highlight for the 2005-2006 year)

Project 5 – 0 is concerned with vocational training and other educational projects for women and girls in developing countries. It is a co-operative project undertaken jointly by BPW International, International Council of Women, International Federation of University Women, Soroptimist International and Zonta International.

The purpose of the Project 5 – 0 is to use skills and expertise of the members of the participating organizations to provide training courses in income-generating skills, including employment and working skills, marketing and small business operations, accompanied by training in health, nutrition, hygiene, child care and literacy.
